Nekton India was founded in 2013 in the vibrant coastal city of Chennai, Tamil Nadu — the heart of India's marine trade. What began as a small consultancy for local fishermen has grown into one of India's most respected marine solutions companies, serving clients across 25+ cities.

Our name is inspired by "nekton" — the free-swimming organisms of the ocean that move purposefully against the currents. Just like them, we move with strength, direction, and determination in everything we do.

Over the past decade, we have built a team of passionate marine biologists, aquaculture engineers, logistics specialists, and sustainability advocates who share one common vision: to power India's blue economy with knowledge, innovation, and integrity.

Marine biologist with 18 years of experience. Vikram's vision and leadership have shaped Nekton India into a nationally trusted brand.

Priya Sundaram

Chief Operations Officer

An IIM Ahmedabad alumna, Priya oversees day-to-day operations and has built our pan-India logistics network from the ground up.

Dr. Suresh Pillai

Head of Research & Development

PhD in Aquatic Sciences from IIT Madras, Dr. Pillai leads our innovation lab and has authored over 40 papers on Indian marine ecology.

Chief Sustainability Officer

2013

Company Founded

Nekton India was established in Chennai with a small team of 5 passionate marine professionals and a big dream for India's blue economy.

2015

First Government Contract

Secured our first major government aquaculture consultancy contract with the Tamil Nadu Fisheries Department, serving 200+ fishing communities.

2017

Pan-India Expansion

Expanded operations to Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra, establishing regional offices and growing our team to 50+ professionals.

2020

R&D Lab Launch

Inaugurated our dedicated Marine Research & Development facility in collaboration with IIT Madras, focusing on sustainable aquaculture innovation.

2023
